Fast & Easy Fettuccine Alfredo
This shortcut sauce comes together in minutes. Add a crisp salad and dinner is served.
INGREDIENTS
- 16 ounces fettuccini
- 3 tablespoons olive oil or soy margarine
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons dry white wine or vegetable stock
- 2 cups Silk Unsweetened
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- ΒΌ teaspoon nutmeg
- fresh chopped parsley to garnish
PREPARATION
Prepare fettuccini according to package directions. While pasta is boiling, heat olive oil or margarine in a medium saucepan. Add flour and wine or stock and cook and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in Silk and remaining ingredients, except parsley. Bring to a simmer and stir until thickened, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Toss with cooked pasta, arrange on 6 plates and sprinkle each serving with fresh parsley.
Serve while warm.
Note: Add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese to sauce if desired. (The recipe will no longer be lactose-free)
